Northern Watters Knitwear & Tartan Shop named top craft retailer

On Feb. 8 in Halifax, Bill Watters, left, and his wife Wanda, of Northern Watters Knitwear & Tartan Shop on Richmond Street in Charlottetown (and Halifax) received the Atlantic Canada Craft Awards for Excellence – Outstanding Retailer for 2020.
The couple received the award at the Craft East Buyer’s Expo. Owners Bill (vice-president) and Wanda (president) started the business in 2007.
“When you are in business and you go through the years, you know what you’ve done and what you’ve accomplished. You know that. But to hear your story presented by a speaker to a large audience, it kind of takes the knees right out from underneath you,” he said. “It was quite a recognition for us to receive,” he said.
