SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — For those looking to beat the heat, there’s a new mobile business that offers kayaks and paddleboard rentals at Green’s Shore Beach on Water Street in Summerside.
Island Adventures has single kayaks, double kayaks and stand-up paddleboards to offer. All watercraft rentals come with life jackets and safety equipment.
“I moved from Ontario to Summerside a year ago, and just started the new business,” said owner Mike Hilborn. Because it’s a mobile business, he can travel with his kayaks and paddleboards to Wilmot River, Grand River or pretty much anywhere on P.E.I.
“I’m available to take rentals up to your cottage for the weekend or wherever needed,” he said.
Hilborn came to P.E.I. in the ‘90s and said he “fell in love with the way of life,” and decided to finally take the leap of faith last year.
On the weekend, he could be seen paddleboarding with his dog along Summerside’s waterfront.
