CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Twenty finalists were announced for the 14th annual President’s Excellence Awards, which takes place on Nov. 21, 2019 at the Delta Prince Edward in Charlottetown.

Hosted by the Greater Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Atlantic Lottery, the awards are a celebration of the achievements and successes of local businesses in the greater Charlottetown area.

Over 50 organizations were nominated by their peers and an independent panel of six judges selected the finalists in each category.

The eight categories and nominees are:

Excellence in Business Award (sponsored by Scotiabank) is given to a for-profit business operating for over 10 years that excelled in all areas of business. Finalists this year are Bevan Bros. Plumbing & Heating, MRSB Group and Vogue Optical.

The Emerging Business Award (sponsored by the City of Charlottetown) is presented to a business operating between two and five years and showing significant growth, innovation and leadership. Finalists are Dosecann Cannabis Solutions, Reset Breathe Fitness, and SableARC Studios.

The Workplace Excellence Award (sponsored by RBC) recognizes an organization that has high employee satisfaction and retention through its human resources practices. The finalists are BioVectra Inc., Invesco, and RBC Dominion Securities.

The Excellence in Customer Service Award (cosponsored by BDO and Cox & Palmer) is given in recognition of a commitment to customer service and satisfaction. The finalists in this category are 3rd Degree Training, Grand Senses Spa, and Papa Joe’s.

The Not-for-Profit Excellence Award (sponsored by Results Marketing & Advertising) recognizes an organization in that sector with a reputation for efficient, effective management and strong board governance while providing a high level of programs and services. The finalists are Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward Island, Prince Edward Island BioAlliance, and the Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island (TIAPEI).

The People’s Choice for Community Impact Award (sponsored by MRSB Group) is determined by the public through an online poll. The finalists in this category are The Friendly S.P.U.D. Productions, Reactive Health, and Nine Yards Studio.

The recipients for the Chamber Volunteer Excellence Award, sponsored by Maritime Electric, and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, sponsored by Provincial Credit Union, will be announced at a later date once determined by an executive committee of the Chamber.
