CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Downtown Charlottetown Inc. Farmers Market will open with some extra safety precautions on Sunday, July 12.

The rain or shine, open-air, Farmers Market is located on Queen Street between Grafton and Sydney streets and will feature around 50 local and independent vendors from Prince Edward Island.

Due to coronavirus (COVID-19 strain) restrictions, there will be no musicians or entertainers at this year’s market to avoid people gathering in particular areas. Additional precautions include limiting the number of attendees at one time, prepackaging of food and a wash and sanitizing station. While the use of debit and visa is encouraged it will not be mandatory.

The Downtown Farmers’ Market will be open every Sunday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. with the final market day on Sunday, Sept. 27. On Sundays, between 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. there will be no parking on the east side of lower Queen Street from Grafton to Sydney streets and on the west side from Richmond to Sydney streets.

Attendees of the market can go to Downtown Charlottetown Inc.’s Facebook and Twitter pages for up-to-date information about who will be featured throughout the summer. For a list of vendors or to apply visit http://downtowncharlottetown.com/farmersmarket/
