The Arts Hotel, downtown Charlottetown’s new eccentric, economic hotel, is continuing its building and movement toward a grand opening this spring.
Currently, the site’s facade is nearly completed, HVAC is being installed and the interior construction and design is well underway.
As well, Blair Smith has been appointed as the hotel’s general manager.
Smith has more than 20 years of experience in hospitality and accommodation management at various local properties.
He has also been integral in overseeing the launch of new hotel locations in the area, which make his skills and experience tailor-made for this position at the Arts Hotel.
“I’m looking forward to the unique experience and challenge of bringing the Arts Hotel to the hotel scene on P.E.I.; it’s a concept never seen on the Island before,” said Smith in a news release.
The Arts Hotel will house over 80 minimalistic rooms and multiple communal spaces, including the Dali Café and the Trailside.
