ABRAM-VILLAGE, P.E.I. - Island businesses, artists and crafters are invited to a bilingual information meeting Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. in the conference room of Evangeline Education Centre in Abram-Village.

This meeting will provide information on business opportunities that may arise from the Congrès mondial acadien (CMA) 2019, taking place Aug. 10-24 in P.E.I. and southeastern New Brunswick.

The Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of P.E.I. will host this meeting to encourage businesses and vendors to prepare for the arrival of numerous visitors attending the CMA 2019 in the eight host municipalities on the Island.

Guest speakers will present various aspects concerning the hosting of such a large event including products, exterior appearance of businesses and municipal properties, bilingual signage and traffic impacts.

A majority of the meeting will be devoted to the presentation of ways that businesses, artists and crafters, both professional and amateur, can profit from this major Acadian event.

CMA 2019 officials will provide information on P.E.I. events, family reunions, tender processes for food services, handcraft booths and more.

The chamber will also speak about various other sales opportunities that can be organized for small artists, artisans and vendors on the sidelines of the festivities.

Presenters will be available to answer all questions.
