CORNWALL, P.E.I. — A Cornwall campground on the edge of the West River has earned some recognition from the franchise for their offerings.

The Cornwall/Charlottetown KOA, in the heart of P.E.I., is now a KOA Holiday, one of three brands created to help travelers select the right campground for their needs.

“Most of our guests are here because Prince Edward Island is a destination spot. It’s a beautiful paradise and a really enjoyable place. It’s a little tropical paradise in the middle of the ocean,” said manager Donna Sentner.

All KOA Holiday parks feature full-service RV sites with a KOA PatioTM and KOA Deluxe Cabins with full bathrooms.

The Cornwall facility also provides premium tent sites, an Olympic-size heated-pool, plenty of playgrounds and a new jumping pillow.

Many sites are on the water’s edge providing beautiful views, said Sentner.

There is also a full-time recreation director for summer activities including movie nights and wagon rides.

“We do Christmas in July, Halloween weekends and a huge Canada Day celebration,” said Sentner.

The campground is more than 55 years old and has been a KOA for about eight years.

“It used to be known as the Holiday Haven,” said Sentner. “Now we’re a Holiday brand and we’re bringing a little bit of history back.”

Sentner’s goal for the campground is to make sure families who come and stay make life-long memories.

Located at 208 Ferry Rd. Cornwall, Canada, the Cornwall/Charlottetown KOA Holiday received the 2019 KOA Founder’s and President’s award for achieving world-class scores and meeting exceptional quality standards.
