COCAGNE, N.B. – Brandon Coulombe scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Kent Koyotes to a 4-2 win over the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers on Saturday night.
The two teams met in an interlocking game between the Island Junior Hockey League and New Brunswick Junior Hockey League.
Martin Druet (1-2) and Francis Godin also scored for the Koyotes.
CJ McCardle and Riley Gallant answered for the Vipers, who are 2-1-0 (won-lost-overtime losses). Nathan Sanderson, Noah Stewart, Garrett Murray and Easton Smith chipped in with assists.
The teams were tied 1-1 after the opening period, and Kent took a 2-1 advantage into the second intermission.
The final shots-on-goal totals were 48-37 in favour of Kent. Samuel Gendron earned the goaltending win over Cameron Visser.
The Vipers are back in action on Sunday as the first-place Sherwood-Parkdale A&S Scrap Metal Metros visit Community Gardens for a 7 p.m. faceoff. The Metros are 3-1-1.
