CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The UPEI Panthers basketball teams are in Sydney, N.S., this weekend for a pair of Atlantic University Sport (AUS) games.
The women’s squad is 2-2 while Cape Breton (1-3) is two points back.
Game time today is 6 p.m. Tip off Sunday is 1 p.m.
UPEI forward Kiera Rigby is among the conference’s leading scorers at 17.5 points per game, which leads the Panthers, while guard Reese Baxendale is going for 12.8 points per game. Centre Carolina Del Santo led the conference in rebounds heading into Friday’s games at 11.5 boards per game.
Hannah Brown tops the Capers in scoring (14.5 points per game) and rebounding (nine).
The Panthers men’s team (0-4) aims for its first win in a double shot versus Cape Breton (0-4). Game times are 8 p.m. today and 3 p.m. Sunday.
Milorad Sedlarevic leads the Panthers with 17.8 points per game, while Stefan Vujisic tops the rebounds per game list at five.
Martin Campbell leads the Capers in scoring (22.5 per game) and rebounding (6.5).
