FORTELEZA, Brazil – It was a golden day for Hannah Taylor on Saturday.
The graduate of Three Oaks Senior High School in Summerside won a gold medal and helped the Canadian women’s team earn a third-place finish at the junior Pan American wrestling championships.
Taylor had an impressive showing en route to capturing gold. She pinned all three of her opponents, including 2018 senior Pan American bronze-medallist Michaela Beck of the United States, and 2017 Cadet Pan Am silver-medallist Susana Lozano of Mexico.
A member of the Brock Wrestling Club, Taylor won a silver medal at the 2017 junior Pan American championships. Taylor is attending Brock University in St. Catharines, Ont.
