SLEMON PARK, P.E.I. – Thanks to six goals in the second period, the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch thumped the North River Flames 9-3 and evened the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League playoff series Monday in Slemon Park.

It’s tied 2-2 and Game 5 in the best-of-five quarter-final is Saturday at the APM Centre in Cornwall. Game time is 7:50 p.m.

Matt MacKinnon, Brandon Arsenault, Bret Cheverie, Kolton Stright, Tanner Jamieson and James Birt scored in the decisive frame. Colton Morris and Chad Wilson added first period scores, while Arsenault netted his second goal of the game in the third.

MacKinnon (4), Jamieson (2), Morris (2) and Monty Desreux (2) tallied multi-assist games.

Connor Andrews (2) and Logan Aylward netted the Flames markers. Bobby Jamieson and Kyle Doucette each had two assists.

Affiliate goalie Izaac Ford earned the win over Ryan Clory.

Summerside outshot North River 35-32 and went 2-for-2 on the power play, while North River was 0-for-2 with the extra man.

The Crunch led 2-1 after the first period and 8-1 at the second intermission.
