STRATFORD, P.E.I. – The Alley Stratford Athletics are back in the Kings County Baseball League final.

The Athletics defeated the Northside Gill Construction Brewers 14-1 in five innings Sunday at MacNeill Field.

The Brewers hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven final. Game 4 is slated to go Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Morell.

The Athletics touched up starter Jordan Stevenson for seven runs in bottom of the third inning and never looked back en route to the victory. The rally included hits down both the left field and right field foul lines.

Grant Grady started the inning with a single up the middle followed by an infield single by Ryne MacIsaac and an RBI double by Randy Taylor down the right-field line. Shawn MacDougall walked to load the bases and Jonathan Arsenault hit an RBI single down the left-field line.

Adam Smith followed with a two-run single and Allister Smith drove in another with a double to the right-centre gap. A Jacob Smith bunt cashed the final run of the inning as the throw was wide at first.

Dan O'Shea pitched the complete game victory, allowing three hits for the A's. MacDougall was 3-for-3 with three RBI, including a solo home run, led Stratford’s offence. MacIsaac and Adam Smith each added three hits for the A's.

Jason MacLean went 1-for-2 with an RBI double to pace the visitor’s attack.
