CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Royce White scored 10 of his 30 points in a fourth-quarter comeback Friday as the London Lightning defeated the Island Storm 112-110.
It included the winning basket on a dunk with two seconds to play as the defending National Basketball League of Canada champs ran their win streak to 12 games.
Joel Friesen-Latty scored 26 in the win while the other three starters also scored double figures as Garrett Williamson had 18, Doug Herring Jr. 16 and Mo Bolden 14 while hauling in 13 rebounds and dishing out four assists.
Chris Johnson scored 30 points to go with 11 rebounds and nine assists to lead the Storm. Franklin Session added 24 points, 11 rebounds and seven dimes and Brad States chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds.
Torrence Dyck Jr. contributed 19 points, seven rebounds and two assists off the bench while Jarion Henry had five rebounds and four points in 19 minutes in his Storm debut.
The Storm led 32-31 after the first quarter, but trailed 51-46 at the half. After outscoring the Lightning by 13 in the third, the Storm took an 85-77 advantage to the fourth.
The Lightning improved to 14-5 while the Storm (8-10) dropped its sixth straight game. The Storm hosts the Saint John Riptide today at 7 p.m.
