ABRAM-VILLAGE – The Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings and Eastern Maniacs are starting over.

The Red Wings pulled out a 2-0 victory at the Evangeline Recreation Centre on Sunday night to tie the best-of-seven semifinal series in the Island Junior Hockey League at a win apiece. With the Maniacs hosting the series opener on Friday night due to the original Game 1 postponed due to weather last week, the teams will be back in Abram-Village for Game 3 on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Bronson Banks had a perfect night in goal for the Red Wings, registering a 23-save shutout. His counterpart at the other end of the rink, Noah Laybolt, had a much busier night in the Maniacs’ goal as he turned aside 48 of 50 shots, including 39 in the first 40 minutes.
Offensively, Alex Morrissey’s first-period goal stood up as the game-winner. Evan Millman added an insurance marker in the middle frame.
Lucas Beaulieu assisted on both Western goals while single helpers went to Jason Gallant and Curklan Fraser.
The Maniacs won Game 1 by a 4-2 score in Souris.
