Queen Charlotte repeats as PEISAA intermediate AA softball champions

After defeating Stonepark in gold-medal game

SLEMON PARK – The Queen Charlotte Coyotes have repeated as P.E.I. School Athletic Association Intermediate AA Girls Softball League champions.

The Coyotes defeated the Stonepark Tigers 8-3 in the gold-medal game at Slemon Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Winning pitcher Abby Smith scattered six hits while striking out nine in the final. Darcie Kelly and Sydney Lawlor pitched for Stonepark.
Top batters for Queen Charlotte against Stonepark were Sophia Jeffrey (3-4) Maddi Gallant ( 2-3, home run) and Lauren Smith (2-4, home run).
For the Tigers, Lindsey Drover (2-3, triple) Zoe Stewart (2-3) and Darcie Kelly (1-2) led the way at the plate.

Semifinals
In the semifinals, Stonepark defeated M.E. Callaghan Team One 14-3, and Queen Charlotte defeated M.E. Callaghan Team Two by a 7-1 score.
M.E. Callaghan Team One defeated M.E. Callaghan Team Two 12-1 to capture the bronze medal.
