Storm loses 117-113 in Cape Breton

SYDNEY, N.S. – Booker Woodfox scored 27 points Sunday to lead the host Cape Breton Highlanders to a 117-113 victory over the Island Storm in National Basketball League of Canada play.

Hank Thorns had 23 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds while Chadrack Lufile recorded 20 points and nine boards.

Nick Okorie led the Storm with 25 points while Jahii Carson and Terry Thomas each chipped in 20. Thomas added 11 rebounds while Okorie had five assists.

Cape Breton held quarter leads of 26-20, 53-50 and 81-75.

The Highlanders improved to 1-3 while the Storm, which was playing its third game in as many days, is 2-3.

The teams play Friday at 7 p.m. in Charlottetown.
