Storm defeats Riptide for road victory

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Rashad Whack had 23 points to pace the Island Storm to a 104-92 victory Wednesday over the Riptide in Saint John, N.B.

Akeem Ellis had 18 while Al Richter contributed 17 and Terry Thomas added 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Gabe Freeman had 23 points to lead the Riptide while Horace Wormely added 15 points and 13 assists.

The Storm held quarter leads of 27-20, 54-46 and 71-68 to improve to 15-18 while the Riptide falls to 22-16.

The Storm host the division-leading Halifax Hurricanes (26-10) tonight at 7 p.m. in its last home game of the season.
