The men’s and women’s 55-plus divisions will be played during the evenings at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud, Feb. 20-24.

“A lot of them work during the day,” explained Ev Gauthier. “There’s been interest right across the Island on the 55 front, but they cannot work and play hockey at the same time.”

There are also three men’s divisions (60-, 65- and 70-plus) that will be played during the day at the APM Centre in Cornwall. The 70-plus division is also new this year.

Organizers are hoping to have at least three teams in each division.

“We’re being very optimistic this year. We’re trying to promote it a little bit more,” Gauthier said. “With this introduction of evening hockey, we'll see how it goes. Hopefully, it’ll be a big plus and it will continue on for future years.”

Feb. 9 is the registration date. For more information, contact Gauthier at 902-892-4748, Errol Taylor at 902-675-2252, the 55+ Games office at 902-368-6570 or the host office at 902-566-2354 ext. 234.
