MONCTON, N.B. – Terry Thomas and Corey Allmond each scored 23 points to get Joe Salerno his first win as head coach of the Moncton Magic Saturday in a 115-83 victory over the Island Storm.

Tim Mitchell (11 points, 12 rebounds) and Jeremy Williams (10 points and 11 rebounds) each had double-doubles while Anthony Cox scored 10 points off the bench for the home side.

Chris Johnson had 15 points to pace the Storm while Franklin Sessions and Du’Vaughn Maxwell each added 12.

The Magic ate the Storm up on the glass, winning the battle on the boards 77-27. The Storm top rebounder was Trenity Burdine with five.

The Magic jumped out to a 33-17 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, holding a 61-36 advantage at the half and 93-57 heading to the fourth quarter.

The Magic and Storm are both 1-2.

The Storm hosts the Cape Breton Highlanders on Friday
