BIBLE HILL, N.S. – The Holland College Hurricanes women’s basketball team’s season is over.

The Hurricanes lost 65-44 to the Mount Allison Mounties Saturday in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association basketball semifinal in Bible Hill, N.S. It ends the Hurricanes three-year run as conference champs.

The Mounties will play the Mount Saint Vincent Mystics, who defeated the St. Thomas Tommies 81-49 in the other semifinal, in Sunday championship game.

Lexi MacInnis led the Hurricanes with 14 points while Tyleigha Nelson had 10 rebounds, nine points, four steals, two blocks and an assist.

Erin Steeves scored a game-high 19 points off the bench for the Mounties while Lauren Chitty chipped in 10 and Kiersten Mangold hauled in 14 rebounds to go with eight points.

Holland College led 18-16 after the first quarter, but trailed 33-29 at the half and 48-40 heading to the fourth.
