He shot a final round 5-over 77 to complete the four-round competition 9-over 297.

Quebec’s Christopher Charles Vandette won the competition at 7-under 281.

Charlottetown’s Tyler Hashmi shot a 77 Friday to finish at 307 while Nine Mile Creek’s Alex Taylor had an 80 on Friday and a 315 score for the week.

The Island trio finished ninth in the team tournament at 602 while Quebec won in 562.

Summerside’s Mya Chisholm had the best round among Prince Edward Island’s women, shooting a 93 and finishing the week at 388.

Kensington’s Lexi Murphy and Reese MacDonald of Summerside each shot 96 on Friday while Murphy finished the four rounds at 398 while MacDonald’s result was 402.

Quebec’s Celeste Dao won at 283.

The young P.E.I. team finished 10th at 776 while Quebec won at 573.

Tennis

Charlottetown’s August McIntyre lost 2-0 (6-0, 6-2) to Ontario’s Malik Bhatnagar in men’s quarter-final tennis action.

P.E.I. beat the Northwest Territories in mix team action with Helen Li beating Tamara Jovic 2-0 (6-0, 6-0).

Volleyball

Prince Edward Island’s men’s team lost 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-22) to New Brunswick and was scheduled to play Newfoundland and Labrador for ninth place Friday night.

The Island’s women’s squad lost 3-0 (25-9, 25-13, 25-6) to Quebec and 3-2 (25-15, 21-25, 28-26, 25-22, 15-8) to Newfoundland and Labrador to finish 10.

Softball

Kelyn Palmer threw a one-hitter as Nova Scotia defeated P.E.I. 4-0 in the final women’s softball game of the preliminary round.

Nova Scotia scored two runs in the sixth and seventh runs.

Emily Brothers allowed four runs on six hits in three innings in relief of Alyssa Fleming, who gave up two hits in four innings.

Hope Higginbotham had a fifth-inning double for P.E.I.’s only hit while Madison Clarke walked twice.

The two teams, which each had 2-7 records, played late Friday with PEI winning 8-5. They play Quebec today.
