Arsenaults lead Ravens to softball wins

Under-23 squad wins two of three from Fawcetts

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Kevin Quinn Re/Max Ravens went 2-1 during the weekend at Central Field to open the softball season in exhibition games with the Charlottetown Fawcetts.

The teams split a doubleheader Saturday with the Fawcetts winning the opener 6-0 and the Ravens taking Game 2 3-2. The Ravens, the under-23 provincial squad comprised of many of the players who played for Team P.E.I. at last summer’s Canada Games in Winnipeg, won Sunday’s contest 8-1.

Steve Noonan earned the win for the Fawcetts in the opener while Chris Arsenault went 2-for-3 with a home run.

Johnny Arsenault took the loss for the Ravens while Logan Gallant and Stephen O’Shea each went 1-for-3.

Owen Arsenault led the Ravens in Game 2, picking up the win on the mound while going 2-for-3 at the dish. Parker Day went 1-for-3 and O’Shea 1-for-2 in the win.

Mitch Hardy took the loss, but helped his cause at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two homeruns.

Sam Walsh and Gallant each went 2-for-3 to pace the Ravens attack in the third game.

Johnny Arsenault recorded the win while Hardy took the loss.

Mike MacIsaac went 1-for-2 with a home run for the Fawcetts while Chris Chandler was 1-for-3.
