CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Kemy Osse is responsible for one of the toughest losses of Tyler Scott and Tim Kendrick’s basketball careers.
Now they all part of the same team — the Island Storm.
Osse hit the game-winning shot in Summerside as Quebec beat Nova Scotia for gold at the 2009 Canada Games.
Osse scored twice in a frantic final five seconds, including a buzzer-beater with 0.1 on the clock to clinch the win, as Quebec captured the gold medal with a rousing 105-103 win over Nova Scotia.
“It was an off-balance shot,” Osse said of the gold medal-clinching shot. “If you told me to shoot that shot again 10 times, I’d probably make it three out of 10 times, but I was blessed.”

Kendrick was coaching Nova Scotia, and he remembers the shot.
“I do, I don't like, too,” he said before Thursday’s Storm practice.
Kendrick said he’s still not watched video of the final few minutes.
“I saw it enough in my dreams,” he said.
The shot is still raised every now and again between the trio.
“Sometimes I bring it back (up), so I can remind them who I am,” Osse smiled, noting he and Scott are roommates with the Storm and play together in the backcourt. “These were fun moments that I’ll never forget. It’s crazy I’m playing with them now.
“We’re all blessed to be here.”

Osse finished with a game-high 30 points while Nova Scotia was led by former UPEI Panthers Deontay (D.J.) Smith with 27 and Mandrez Downey with 23.
Quebec had led by as many as 17 points, but Nova Scotia battled back with a 20-0 run in the third quarter that included four threes from Smith and a dunk by Rodell Wiggington to grab a 63-55 lead with a quarter to go.
Quebec chipped away at the deficit in the fourth and trailed by just two when the team grabbed a key rebound and Osse scored on a jumper to tie it up with 4.8 seconds left.
