SUMMERSIDE – Little Miss Winnie won a rich trotting event at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway on Tuesday night.
Kenny Arsenault, who recorded a driving hat trick on the 12-dash card, drove the Ralph Annear-trained Little Miss Winnie for owner Steven Sorrie of Montague to a 2:08 victory in the Atlantic Sires Stakes – Meridian Farms two-year-old trot as part of Governor’s Plate Week harnesss racing. The race had a purse of $15,580.
Ableway placed while Mile Hill Willie finished in the show position.

Three-year-old trotters
Three divisions of the Atlantic Sires Stakes – Meridian Farms three-year-old trots were also featured. Each event went for $6,340.
Arsenault drove Mile Hill A J to a new personal record of 2:03 in Race 2 for owner John Breau of Shediac Cape, N.B. Paul Morrison does the training.
Arsenault made it three straight stakes’ wins on the night with a win behind Oceanview Eunomia in the second three-year-old event. Time of the mile was 2:02.1 – a new lifetime mark.
William Roloson of Belfast owns and trains Oceanview Eunomia.
The third division went to the Kenneth MacDonald-driven West River Cindy in 2:02.3 – a maiden record. Haley Shepherd of Stratford owns West River Cindy, and Clare MacDonald does the training.
