CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The P.E.I. F.C. had solid results in Nova Scotia Soccer League weekend action on the mainland bringing home a 5-1-2 mark overall.
The under-15 boys won 10-0 and 6-0 over REX, while against Valley United the under-15 girls lost 4-3 and tied 1-1.
In under-17, the girls side downed Halifax City 4-1 and 4-0 and the boys team beat Halifax City 1-0 after tying 2-2 in the first game.

Under-17 Girls
P.E.I. F.C., 4 Halifax City 0
Emily Cormier scored twice, while Caitlyn McCloskey and Braylan MacEachern added singles and helped P.E.I. even its record to 5-5. The shutout went to Samantha MacEachern.

Kyle Connell scored in the 60th minute to secure the win and the three points. Hayden Porter earned the shutout.

P.E.I. F.C., 1 Valley United, 1
Megan Kinch’s goal evened the game as the squad took a point off first-place Valley United, which hasn’t lost this season and had only allowed four goals before facing the P.E.I. F.C. Jenna Turner netted the Valley marker.

Sam Akinsola scored five times and led P.E.I. F.C. to its second straight shutout win. Tony Nguyen had the other goal. Keeper Luke Clark record the no-no.

The Island squad scored four times, led by two from McCloskey, and earned the win. Cormier and MacEachern chipped in singles. Jane MacDonald had the Halifax City goal.

Down 2-1, Halifax City’s Matthew Piercey scored on a header from a corner kick with the last kick of the game to tie it 2-2 and split the points. Sungbeen Song netted the other Halifax City marker. P.E.I. F.C. built the 2-1 edge on goals from Connell and Shaurya Badana.

Valley United used two goals each from Turner and Jenica Saunders to earn the close victory. Emma MacIntyre and two Valley own goals kept the game within reach.
