Invitational synchronized skating event attracts 14 teams

O’LEARY – Fourteen teams – nine from P.E.I. and five from Nova Scotia – will compete Sunday in Skate P.E.I.’s invitational friendship synchronized skating competition.
The competition is being held at the O’Leary Community Sports Centre, and gets underway at 9 a.m. with the Cheer and Skills competitions.
Teams will perform their routines during the afternoon competition, which gets underway at noon.
The nine P.E.I. teams come from the Alberton, Tyne Valley, Evangeline, Summerside, Charlottetown and O’Leary figure skating clubs and the Nova Scotia teams come from the Riverview, Kentville and Wolfville clubs. Teams are entered in the Beginner I, Beginner II, Elementary, Juvenile, Pre-Novice, Novice, Open and Adult divisions. Sunday’s show wraps up with on-ice awards presentations at 2:25 p.m.
