KENSINGTON – The Island Junior Hockey League playoffs will resume on two fronts this weekend.

Two teams will be looking to avoid being pushed to the brink of elimination.
The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers take a 2-1 series lead over the Sherwood-Parkdale A&S Scrap Metal Metros into Game 4 of the best-of-seven semifinal at Credit Union Centre in Kensington, previously Community Gardens, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The Metros will be looking to even the series up on the road, before returning home to the Cody Banks Arena for Game 5 on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
The Vipers won the first two games by 5-3 and 6-4 scores, and the Metros got back in the series with a 6-3 decision in Game 3 on Wednesday.

Red Wings at Maniacs
Sunday, the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings will travel to Souris to face the Eastern Maniacs in Game 4. After dropping the series opener on the road 4-2, the Red Wings answered with 2-0 and 6-5 wins on home ice to take a 2-1 lead. The 6-5 game was not decided until double overtime.
Although the Red Wings hold home-ice advantage in this series, the Maniacs hosted Game 1 due to the originally scheduled opener postponed due to weather.
The Maniacs will be looking to even the series to avoid facing elimination at the Evangeline Recreation Centre on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
