CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The Holland College Hurricanes men’s basketball team put on a an offensive show last weekend scoring a pair of three-digit totals in Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association wins.
Holland College men downed the Mount Allison Mounties 116-99 on the road, then thumped the Dal-AC Rams 123-62 at home on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the women dropped a 89-63 decision to Mount Allison on Saturday.
The men (5-0) lead ACAA, while the women (2-2) sit in third place.
Next the Hurricanes tangle with Crandall University on Sunday in Moncton, N.B. Game times are 2 p.m. for the women and 4 p.m. for the men.

Hurricanes 123, Rams 62
The ‘Canes jumped out to a 34-11 lead after the first quarter, took a 61-25 lead into halftime and coasted to the victory.
Marcus Dawkins (17 points, six assists, five steals, three blocks) led the parade of Hurricanes with double-digit scoring which included Roosevelt Whyley (15 points), Connor Therrien (15 points), Kyle Lefave (14 points), Michael Kayeye (13 points) and Jace Colley (11 points).
Chase Bowden nabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.

Men
Hurricanes 116, Mounties 99
Holland College snagged the early lead at 32-26 lead and kept enough distance between it and Mount Allison to earn the win.
The Mounties cut the ‘Canes lead to 10 points after the third quarter, but couldn’t close the gap.
Whyley led the way with a double-double (25 points, 10 rebounds), while Lefave drained 21 points and dished out five assists.
Colley (16 points), Marcus Dawkins (15 points), Michael Kayeye (12 points) and Jalen King (12 points) also hit the scoresheet with double-digits.
Women
Mounties 89, Hurricanes 63
Holland College never recovered from a tough second quarter as Mount Allison took a 18-point edge into halftime that ‘Canes couldn’t overcome.
Breauna Rivoli-Johnson had a team-high 15 points for the ‘Canes, while Tyleigha Nelson and Lexi MacInnis had 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Jayla Verney hauled in a team-high 12 rebounds.
