POWNAL, P.E.I. – Zach Wilson and Zac MacKay each scored two goals and led the Mid-Isle Matrix to a 4-1 win over the Pownal Taco Boyz Red Devils in P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League action Monday in Pownal.
Wilson scored on a first period power play and after MacKay’s marker with the extra man in the second, Mid-Isle had a 2-1 lead going into the third.
MacKay notched his second goal at 15:13 and Wilson added his second power-play score three minutes later.
Nathan Mahar chipped in two assists for the Matrix.
Dawson Palmer, from Grant Koughan and Keegan Mitchell, netted the Red Devils goal.
Jonah Arbing earned the win over Logan Birt. Mid-Isle went 3-for-5 on the power play, while Pownal was 1-for-1 with the extra skater.
