KENSINGTON, P.E.I. – Clark Webster had three goals and an assist to lead the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild to a 6-2 victory over the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride Tuesday in major midget hockey action.
The host Wild scored six unanswered goals, five on the power play, for the victory.
Frank Fortin had a goal and three helpers while Ethan Beaulieu scored one and set two more up for the Wild. Marc Richard had the other goal while Zac Arsenault had two helpers and singles went to Chandler Wood, Austin Callaghan and Isaac Callaghan.
Noah Griffin and Nick Reeves scored for Charlottetown with assists from Owen MacNeill, Gage MacWilliams, Hunter Bradley and Luke Garnhum.
Chad Arsenault stopped 26 shots for the win while Ben Parent made 32 saves in the loss.
The Pride led 2-0 after the first but trailed 4-2 heading to the third.
The Wild (16-5-1) leapfrog Moncton (15-5-2) for first place in the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League. Charlottetown falls to 7-10-3.
