Whalen plays key role in Red Devils’ win

ALBERTON – Trevor Whalen played a key role in the Pownal Taco Boyz Red Devils’ win on Saturday night.
Whalen recorded the shutout and earned an assist as the Red Devils topped the host Western Regals 4-0 in a P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League game at the Jacques Cartier Arena.
Hunter Pauley-Smith scored twice while Noah Morrison and Dawson Palmer added single goals as Pownal improved to 12-8-1 (won-lost-tied). Grant Koughan, Lucas Parsons, Michael Gallant and Keegan Mitchell also assisted.
After a scoreless opening period, the Red Devils took a 2-0 lead into the final frame.
Cole Gallant was between the pipes for the Regals (7-8-4).
