POWNAL – The Prince County Warriors’ comeback attempt fell just short on Thursday night.
The Warriors fell behind the Eastern Express 5-1, before dropping the P.E.I. Major Bantam AAA Hockey League game at the Pownal Sports Centre 7-6.
Eastern led 3-1 after the opening period, and took a 5-3 cushion into the final frame.
Simon Hughes (2-2), Jack Campbell (2-1), Cole McKeigan (2) and Avery Brown (1-2) scored for the Express, who improved to 15-9-4 (won-lost-overtime losses). Sam Worth added two assists.
Six different players – Donovan Arsenault (1-1), Jack Reilly (1-1), Zach Biggar (1-1), Garrett Culleton, Carson Wood and Frederick Morency – answered for the O'Leary-based Warriors (10-12-2).
Drew Chapman earned the goaltending win.
