CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Marcus Power is heading home.
The St. John’s, N.L., native has signed a one-year ECHL contract with the Newfoundland Growlers. He is the first player to sign with the expansion club, which is an affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Power was tied for second on the UPEI Panthers scoring last season, his fourth with the university. He scored 17 goals and set up 12 more for 29 points in 30 games. It put him 13th in the Atlantic University Sport conference. It included a conference-leading two shorthanded goals.
His sophomore season was his most productive, registering 32 points in 25 games.
