RIMOUSKI, QUE. – Jeremy McKenna of Summerside had a big night for the Moncton Wildcats in Game 7 against the Rimouski Oceanic on Tuesday night.
McKenna recorded four assists to help the Wildcats to a 6-3 win in the deciding game of the opening round of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoffs. McKenna had six assists in the seven games.
In 68 regular-season games, McKenna had 31 goals and 77 points.
Defenceman Jacob Arsenault of Richmond is in his rookie season with the Wildcats, and he recorded one assist in four games against Rimouski.
Carson MacKinnon, also of Summerside, had one goal in the seven-game series for the Oceanic. MacKinnon had 35 points, including 13 goals, in 65 regular-season games in his third year with Rimouski.
The Wildcats will now face the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in Round 2.
