SLEMON PARK – The Summerside Cover-All Construction Crunch started 2018 off on a winning note.

 

Brett Cheverie (5:01) and Skyler Phillips (10:34) scored the game’s final two goals in the third period to lift the Crunch to a 4-2 victory over the North River Flames on Friday night.
The Plex was the site of the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League contest.
James Briand had two goals and an assist to lead the Crunch, who improved to 7-11-1 (won-lost-overtime losses). Connor Curran and Chad Wilson added assists.
Spencer Beaton and Brandon Watts countered for the Flames (7-11-2) while single helpers were credited to Keirsten Steele, Will Parker and Blake Gallant.
The Crunch led 1-0 after the first period, and 2-0 following 40 minutes.
Avery Arsenault turned aside 28 of 30 shots in earning the goaltending win. Ryan Clory also faced 30 shots in the North River goal.
