SUMMERSIDE – It was a nail-biting finish at Credit Union Place on Wednesday night.
Brandon Hastings scored a power-play goal at 8:50 of the third period to break a 1-1 tie while and Carter Champion stopped 33 shots, including 14 in the final 20 minutes, to lift the Summerside Capitals to a 2-1 win over the Kings County Kings.

Parker Cameron’s second-period goal opened the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League game’s scoring for Summerside, which improved to 5-16-0 (won-lost-tied). Blake Gallant (2), Parker Gallant and Kalib Snow added assists.
Brodie McCarthy, assisted by Tyson McInnis and Lucas MacAulay, netted the lone goal for Kings County (9-7-5).
Kings goaltender Ben Bruce stopped 16 of 18 shots.

Game postponed
Thursday’s game at the Cody Banks Arena in Charlottetown between the Alberton-based Western Regals (7-7-4) and Central Attack (7-12-1) was postponed due to the forecasted storm.
The game will be rescheduled for a later date.
