DARTMOUTH, N.S. – The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals’ TJ Shea has been named the first star of the month in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) for the second time this season.
Shea’s latest honour comes for December after he scored eight times and added 10 assists for 18 points in eight games. The 19-year-old forward from Anglo/Tignish produced at least a point in every contest during December, extending his point streak to 22 games entering January.
From Dec. 2 to 16, Shea registered 16 points over the course of six games, notching three points on four occasions and two points twice.
Shea, who was named the league’s first star for October and the second star in November, enters Sunday night’s home game against the Truro Bearcats leading the MHL scoring race with 64 points – 26 goals and 38 assists – in 29 regular-season games.
