ALBERTON – The defending league-champion O’Leary Maroons are 0-2 (won-lost) early in the West Prince Senior Hockey League’s second season. Garrett Lewis, with his second goal of the night with 8:11 remaining in the third, gave the Alberton Regals a 3-2 win over the visiting Maroons at the Jacques Cartier Arena on Wednesday night. It was the Regals’ first game of the short regular season.
Lewis’s game-winner was unassisted. He opened the scoring on the power play with 2:22 remaining in the first period, with assists from Jesse MacIntyre and Ryan Perry.
The Regals led 1-0 after the first period, and the game was tied 1-1 after two periods of play.

The Maroons received goals from Aaron Reilly and Mike Adams while assists went to Mike MacIsaac, Brett Gallant, Matt Stewart and Aaron Sweet.
Jason Smallman, from Fidan Feta and Dylan Rayner, scored the Regals’ second goal.
Spencer Rennie picked up the goaltending win, and Chase Dyment took the loss.
There were 11 minor penalties called in the game – six to the Regals.
