The NHL club announced the Murray Harbour native and Brian Leetch were named hockey operations advisors Tuesday on Twitter.
They will work with the hockey operations department in both hockey-related decisions along with off-ice player and prospect development.

The 37-year-old Richards announced his retirement in July 2016 after a 15-year NHL career, which included three years playing for the Rangers from 2011-12 to 2013-14.
He also played with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings, amassing 932 points in 1,126 games.
He won the Stanley Cup in 2003-04 with Tampa Bay and in 2014-15 with Chicago.
