KENSINGTON – The Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings made it 10 straight wins on Friday night.
The Red Wings spotted the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers a 3-0 lead early in the second period, before roaring back for a 5-3 win at Community Gardens.
The win improved the Red Wings’ Island Junior Hockey League-leading record to 12-5-2 (won-lost-overtime losses), and the third-place Vipers dropped to 8-9-3.
Jason Gallant and Isaac Knox each scored two goals to pace the Red Wings, who received a single goal off the stick of Spencer Groom. Lucas Beaulieu (2), Silas Handrahan, Calvin McRae and Chasse Gallant chipped in with assists.
For the Vipers, Easton Smith, Jesse Jay and Logan Vandervelden found the back of the net. Tyler Gallant (2), CJ McCardle, Garrett Murray and Riley Gallant added helpers.
The Vipers led 1-0 after one period, and 3-1 at the end of 40 minutes.
Bronson Banks earned the goaltending win over Cameron Visser.
The Vipers will host the Souris-based Eastern Maniacs (4-12-1) at Community Gardens on Sunday at 2 p.m.
