ABRAM-VILLAGE – It wasn’t easy, but the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings extended their winning streak to 13 games on Sunday afternoon.

 

Team captain Chasse Gallant scored his second goal of the game late in overtime to lift the Red Wings to a 6-5 come-from-behind victory over the Moncton Vitos in an interlocking game with the New Brunswick Junior Hockey League.

The Red Wings, who lead the Island Junior Hockey League with a 15-5-2 (won-lost-overtime losses) record, trailed the Vitos 5-3 halfway through the final period. However, Spencer Groom (1-1) brought the Red Wings to within 5-4 with 9:54 remaining, and Gallant netted the tying goal with 8:27 showing on the clock.

Jason Gallant (1-1), Isaac Callaghan (1-1) and Connor Morrissey also scored for the Red Wings, who received three assists from Evan Millman.
Alexis LeBlanc (1-1), Nic Bacso (1-1), Alex Gallant, Pascal Dupuis and Remi Theriault answered for the Vitos, who held period leads of 2-1 and 4-3.
Winning goaltender was Bronson Banks.
