DesRoches picks

up assist

ST. STEPHEN, N.B. – Rookie defenceman Jack DesRoches of Day’s Corner helped the Miramichi Timberwolves to victory on Friday night.

DesRoches assisted on Makail Parker’s game-winning goal at 15:07 of the third period that broke a 2-2 tie. The Timberwolves went on to double the St. Stephen Aces 4-2 in MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) play.

The 16-year-old DesRoches, who is still eligible to play midget hockey, now has two assists in nine regular-season games with the Timberwolves. DesRoches played the last two seasons with the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild of the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League.

 

Islanders contribute

to Slammers’ offence

CAMPBELLTON, N.S. – Two Prince Edward Islanders contributed to the Woodstock Slammers’ offence on Friday night.

Forward Alex Hambly of Stratford scored his first goal of the 2016-17 MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) regular season, and forward Jarred Toole of Bonshaw earned an assist.

The Slammers pulled out a 3-2 road decision over the Campbellton Tigers.

 

MacCallum makes

27 saves in OT loss

YARMOUTH, N.S. – Goaltender Darryl MacCallum of Charlottetown made 25 saves for the Amherst Ramblers on Friday night.

The Ramblers dropped a 4-3 road decision to the Yarmouth Mariners in overtime.

Former Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capital Julian Makary scored for the Ramblers.
