CORNWALL – A power-play goal in the third period proved to be the difference for the Robin's Mid-Isle Matrix on Tuesday night.
Ben Peters scored at 15:17 to lift the Matrix to a 1-0 win over the visiting Western Regals in a P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League game at the APM Centre. Zac MacKay and Colin Goodwin set up the marker.
Matt Jelley registered a 28-save shutout while Colin Gaudette turned aside 39 of 40 shots for the Alberton-based Regals.
The league-leading Matrix improved to 18-4-3 (won-lost-tied), and the fourth-place Regals dropped to 7-10-5.
