Panthers drop fifth straight game in AUS men's hockey

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Anthony Repaci scored three times to pace the Saint Mary’s Huskies to a 6-3 win over the UPEI Panthers Friday in Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey action.

It is the Panthers fifth straight loss to fall to 5-8-2. The Huskies are 7-7-1.

Bronson Beaton, Hunter Garlent and Bradley Latour also scored in the win. Beaton had three assists, Stephen Gillard two while Francis Menard, Calder Brooks and Garlent each added one.

Darcy Ashley, Mitchell Dempsey and Brent Andrews scored for UPEI with assists to Casey Babineau, J.C. Campagna, Nelson Armstrong, Beni Berisha and Marcus Power.

Former Charlottetown Islander Eric Brassard made 29 saves for the win while Connor Wilkinson allowed four goals on 35 shots before being pulled early in the third period. Matt Mahalak gave up two goals on six shots in 17:01 in relief.

Saint Mary’s held period leads of 2-1 and 3-1.

UPEI was 0-for-5 on the power play while Saint Mary’s was 0-for-3.

The Panthers travel to Wolfville, N.S., Saturday to play the Acadia Axemen at 7 p.m.
