The Legends of Hockey Tour is coming to Souris on Saturday, Oct. 8.
The Slap Shots & Boot Stompin’ Event will be stopping in Souris as part of their 2016 Maritime and Alberta tour.
Fans will be treated to the skills of former NHL greats Glenn Anderson, Mike Krushelynski, Cliff Ronning, Doug Bodger, Jocelyn Lemieux and others as they take to the ice for a game against the Souris Hawkes all-stars in support of the Souris Minor Hockey Program.
With thousands of games of NHL experience, the legends include a hockey Hall of Famer, Stanley Cup champions, Olympians, Canada Cup participants and several other accolades.
The doors to the Eastern Kings Sportsplex will open at 6 p.m., with the players taking the ice at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $20 in advance at the Petro Can in Souris during regular business hours, or for $25 at the door.
After the game, fans are invited to the reception hall at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex for the kitchen party with country artist Kevin Davison and his band. Also on hand will be Aaron Pritchett, fresh off opening for Garth Brooks in Saskatoon.
The kitchen party is for ages 19 and over, and will start at 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. They can also be purchased in advance for $25 at Petro Can in Souris.
