SUMMERSIDE – Cameron Nelson and Matt Craig have been rewarded for their strong play.
They have been named the players of the week in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League.
Nelson, in his second year with the Crapaud-based Southside Lynx, played a key role in his team’s opening-night 4-2 victory over the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces.
Nelson, who received the defensive player-of-the-week award, played big minutes on the blue-line, including lots of time killing penalties, ran the point on power plays and made some huge plays in front of Lynx goaltender Sean MacPhee.
Craig received the offensive award after scoring three goals and assisting on four others in leading the North River Flames to a 10-5 win over the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch.

Game postponed
The league has also announced that Friday’s game between the Crunch and Aces has been postponed “due to the lack of available ice on that night.”
The game will be rescheduled for a later date.
