RIMOUSKI, Que. – Summerside native Carson MacKinnon netted his first goal of the 2017-18 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Sunday.
MacKinnon opened the scoring at 9:22 of the first period to get the Rimouski Oceanic off on the right foot en route to a 6-2 win over the Quebec Remparts.
MacKinnon, who had a plus-3 rating in the contest, has two points in nine regular-season games.
Elsewhere Sunday, Jeremy McKenna of Summerside earned an assist on Mika Cyr’s goal at the 58-second mark of overtime as the Moncton Wildcats edged the Saint John Sea Dogs 4-3 at the Moncton Coliseum.
