Hockey Canada announced the 23-man roster on Tuesday. It included Stratford goalie Drew MacIntyre and defencemen Mark Flood, of Charlottetown, and Brandon Gormley, of Murray River.

Gordie Dwyer is an assistant to head coach Luke Richardson. Dave King is an associate coach.

“The opportunity to participate in one of the oldest invitational hockey tournaments in the world is a highlight event for our players and staff during the season,” said Sean Burke, Canada’s national men’s team general manager for the Spengler Cup. “We have a team with leadership and experience from last year and we’re confident in the players we’ve assembled to represent Canada with pride as they wear the Canadian jersey.”

MacIntyre is one of five players returning from last year’s squad. The others are Chris DiDomenico, Cory Emmerton, James Sheppard and Daniel Vukovic.

Former Halifax Mooseheads goalie Zach Fucale is also on the roster.

Canada has won the tournament 13 times since 1984 with the last one being in 2015.

The tournament will take place from Dec. 26 to 31 in Davos.
