QUEBEC CITY – The Charlottetown Islanders and Quebec Remparts are going to the third period tied 2-2 in a winner-take-all contest in Quebec City.

Daniel Hardie from captain Pierre-Olivier (P.O.) Joseph and Olivier Desjardins gave the Isles a 2-1 lead 4:20 into the second period of Game 7 of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff series.

Philipp Kurashev tied it on a power play midway through the period. Sam Dunn and former Isles forward Matthew Grouchy had the helpers.

Islanders goalie Matthew Welsh made a few of key saves late in the period to keep the game tied, including one on former teammate Gregor MacLeod.

Islanders veteran Pascal Aquin opened the scoring 2:26 into the game off a Saku Vesterinen shot. It was the overage forward’s third goal of the series. Keith Getson got the other assist.

The lead lasted 57 seconds before Andrew Coxhead tied it with his second of the series. Etienne Verrette and Grouchy had the helpers.

Welsh has 20 stops through 40 minutes while Antoine Samuel has 17 saves.

Quebec is 1-for-3 on the power play while Charlottetown is 0-for-1.
