Trailing 2-1 heading to the third period, J.C. Campagna tied it five minutes in and Cody Payne scored the winner with three minutes to play.
Kurt Etchegary iced the game with a shorthanded tally into the empty net with 13 seconds to play.
Marcus Power had a goal and an assist for the Panthers while Casey Babineau and captain Brent Andrews each had two assists. Brock Beukeboom and Beau McCue each chipped in one assist.
Bryson Cianfrone and Jagger Dirk scored for the X-Men.
Matt Mahalak made 17 saves for the win while Brandon Hope stopped 24 shots in the loss.
Each team was 0-for-4 on the power play. St. FX led 1-0 after the first period and 2-1 heading to the third.
The Panthers improved to 7-9-3 and sits fifth in the seven-team conference while the X-Men (11-8-1) are third.
